been a while since i've last posted... i think. i have acutally lost track of time. currently nursing a flu. and no i have been imprisoned in one of the chalets. doc said it was just some infection. as long as i don't get fever. woots. had a restful day y'day - MC for two days actually, but i'm back at work. seemingly never-ending stuff for me to follow up and do. sigh.
we've gotten some new colleauges already, after the recent spade of people throwing in their resignation letters. of all (only 2) the new colleauges, i'm glad that one of them is E. she's damn cute. ahahahhaha and of cos, she has melded into our grp amazingly well. and i'm pleasantly surprised at the amt of stuff she knows about the people in the company. woots. save our breath from explaining and re-telling the stories. glad to have her onboard. seriously makes the envrionment all the more bearable.
aloy has turned 18 already. wow. that's fast. and to think that y'day (figuratively) he was still jumping on ma gege and punching. it seems so recent when i left him, heading to perth. it seems so recent when i held him in my arms and fed him his bottle. :) and surprisingly, he doesn't want to club. siao! haven't even experience the joys of clubbing yet. and he's a bit toot loh, cos if he went with us, we confirm pay for his drinks. rather than going with his friends. but maybe he's worried we'll spoil his game lah (whatever game he has got or not)! heh! but i'm so glad the girls and scott made the time to celebrate with him. really much appreciated lah! a pity rubberband/ma gege/bryan/eelis could not join us. i think it wld have been more fun. plus all of them watched him grow up. :)
can't wait for this friday and saturday. lots of exciting things happening!!! touch has grown so much since the 8 of us started... although it's been fun, but i can't help but miss the old times when there were only just that little grp of us playing. :) like what one of the girls said, it's like back then, we were playing with friends. but now is more like many pple gathering to play touch. NOT THAT I AM COMPLAINING. i'm not. just reminiscing. but i'm thankful that new pple have been coming down and showing their enthusiasm for the game.
which brings me to something i was talking to bubbles about. the youth olympics to be held in singapore 2010. i can't remember how we actually got onto that topic... but i was clearly expressing my discontent. i just don't like the fact that we've only began promoting sports in our country. i think that should have been done long ago. seriously, how well are we expecting TEAM SINGAPORE to do during the youth olympics?!
i don't think singapore has a huge sporting talent pool. or rather, we could have tapped into that pool a while back, but because we were focused on other aspects of nation building that we have missed that potentially large pool of athletes. people who were probably passionate about a sport (of their choosing) might be in their 20s - 40s now. take touch for example, i believe there are more singaporeans out there who might have been interested in touch. but there's a lack of promotion/awareness of the game. touch enthuiasts have a hard time finding a social grp that plays, as evidenced from the new pple at our touch sessions.
which brings me to this point, for those 'niche' sports, those who can play it, tend to develop some sort of arrogance to the noobs who might want to take up that sport. it's like 'oh i can play touch! i'm all high and mighty!'. that sort of thing. then it makes it hard for potentially interested pple to take part and sustain that interest. and thereby, losing numbers. perhaps it's just an overall singapore mentality; where we get damn proud or arrogant or competitive just because we can do something better than another person. really needs to change man. isn't it better if we could all just help each other get better?

sidenote: monster i miss you... can you come back soon??? best if you can come back permanently and sit in the same office as us... BOO!!!! and mj, i kinda miss you too!! better come visit us soon... :) good luck for ur exams dearie...
